Anne Herbst can paint and draw beautifully. She is a highly motivated person, spirited and adventuresome. Her rich sense of imagery, unique and mysterious, has expanded and developed in the five years I've been familiar with her work.
Her ability to handle close value color is complemented by a surface that is texturally varied and alive with light. The work is skillfully constructed with areas of surprise and originality.

I was born 1960 in Summit, New Jersey. In 1980 I moved to San Francisco to attend the San Francisco Art Institute and have lived here ever since. I create my art in my home near Ocean Beach. Every day I go to the beach and absorb its drama.
